Oh How the Garden Grows

July 25, 2010

It’s a beautiful time of the year in the garden. Many plants are blooming and there are butterflies galore. Here are some pictures that I took in our garden today.

Our Front Porch Needed a Little Something

July 24, 2010

After a couple weeks of searching for the perfect planter for our front porch I stumbled upon this gem, snatched it up, added some plants and now it greets our visitors. We love it.

Sweet Sedums

July 20, 2010

Sedums are one of the easiest plants to grow. After growing a couple of Autumn Sedums, I decided to plant a couple of new (well, new to me anyway) sedums in a sandy planting bed by our fire pit. Here are some of the sedums in our yard.

Decisions, Decisions

July 18, 2010

Okay so we finally got around to clearing this bed of weeds, pine needles and leaves. Now what??? There’s a pine tree on the right and an oak tree on the left. Given the pine tree, I’m thinking acid loving plants would be best. Maybe azaleas.

Garage Update II – Awaiting the Electrician

July 10, 2010

The inspector has signed off on the contractor’s work. So the next step is a final outlet or two by the electrician and the electrical inspection final sign off. After that we can start wall board and the floors. I can NOT wait. As you can see from the photos John hasn’t been able to wait either so he set up his office temporarily while we wait for the electrician to come finish up his part. Of course everything you see here will have to be moved out to finish the job but that is a worry for another day.
